WHAT ARE THE EARRINGS MADE OUT OF?
My earrings are made from Italian Cotton-Based Cold Pressed 300lb Watercolor Paper. I use archival Pigma inks and vibrant Inktense watercolors to hand-paint detailed, colorful designs. The earrings get painted on both the front and the back, and then they get coated in several coats of Varnish, which makes them Water-resistant and UV-resistant.

DO THEY BREAK EASILY?
IIf you try hard enough, you can break anything. My earrings have the strength of wooden earrings but are lighter than a feather. They're flexible and durable. They don't wrinkle, and they don't snap in half. They do not bend or tear just because you are wearing them. They do get made out of "paper," but the material is 1mm thick, and they can literally hold up a rock.
CAN THEY GET WET?
All of my earrings get varnished, which makes them water resistant and prevents UV damage or fading caused by sunlight. Do not go swimming with them on or wear them in the shower. They will not be damaged if you get caught in a rain storm. If you do happen to jump in the shower with them on, take them off and hang them up to dry...I did this once by mistake--accidentally shampooed my hair with them on-- and they survived, but I can't guarantee that they will.
I HAVE SENSITIVE EARS. ARE THEY HYPOALLERGENIC?
All of my earring hardware is hypoallergenic Stainless Steel. It does not tarnish the way silver does, and it's great for sensitive skin. I also offer a Gold-Finished Stainless Steel, which is also hypoallergenic.
An added benefit: my earrings are all light as feather, so they won't pull on your earlobes. If your piercings are having difficulty healing, these lightweight, hypoallergenic earrings may help. My second piercings were not healing properly. After I started wearing my earrings, I no longer had swollen or infected piercings.
